This procedure is ideal for patients who are unhappy with the appearance of their waist, stomach, back, or arms, and cannot improve it in spite of diet and exercise. We use a proprietary technique as the cornerstone of our body contouring procedures. First off, these procedures are typically performed awake, in the office, with only local anesthesia (although patients can request deeper sedation, if they so desire). In addition to Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL), we typically use Laser Lipo or VASER (vibration-assisted ultrasound) to reduce dense, fibrous fat, and stimulate collagen formation; Radiofrequency-based skin tightening (Pelleve) to maximize skin contraction; and High Energy Radial Pulse Technology, RF, or subcision (Cellfina) to treat cellulite and improve any irregularities. Patients go home the day of surgery; typically do not use any narcotics postop for pain control, and are back to light exercise and work 48 hours after their procedures.

This amazing patient had done the hard work already, and had lost over 50 pounds with diet and exercise alone. She was currently 5’1”, 150 lbs. She wanted to take advantage of the new body that she had worked so hard for, and came in for a consultation for an IDEAL arm lift. These procedures are usually performed in the office, with only local anesthesia. We typically use Laser Liposuction or VASER (ultrasound) to reduce dense, fibrous fat, and stimulate collagen formation; Radiofrequency-based skin tightening (Pelleve) to maximize skin contraction; and High Energy Radial Pulse Technology, RF, or subcision (Cellfina) to treat cellulite. Patients go home the same day as surgery, do not need narcotics for pain control, and can return to light exercise and work two days after their procedure. We select the appropriate treatment for each patient based on their skin quality, amount of fat and surgical goals. It is best to answer your question during a face-to-face evaluation, when you can discuss your goals and expectations for the procedure, and you can have a physical examination to evaluate for that procedure. I recommend that you find a board-certified, or board-eligible plastic surgeon with whom you are comfortable. Be sure to have all of your questions answered during a face-to-face meeting with your surgeon, and review before and after pictures of similar patients whom have had this procedure.
